I’ve actually found the membership to be mostly worth it. The perks are nice and make it feel like you’re getting a decent bit of extra value

I was disappointed with the gift shop. I always like browsing for a little souvenir, even just a magnet or a decent T-shirt, but there really wasn’t much to choose from. A lot of it felt like the same basic items repeated on different shelves, and the clothing sizes were oddly picked over, mostly just a few random sizes hanging there. I even checked the tags twice thinking maybe I missed a section, but no luck. I expected a better selection and ended up leaving without buying anything.

I checked out sdnhm.org before taking my kids and it helped a lot. It was easy to see what exhibits were happening, so we kinda knew what to expect going in. We ended up learning way more than I thought about local animals, fossils, and all the nature stuff around San Diego. My kids were still talking about it later, which like... never happens lol. Super solid educational spot, but it didnt feel boring or too much like school.

I checked out sdnhm.org before visiting, i’m kind of picky about cleanliness in museums, so I noticed this stuff right away. Overall, the place felt well taken care of, the floors, bathrooms, and eating areas all seemed clean, which made the visit a lot more comfortable for me.
The only reason I’d go with 4 stars instead of 5 is that a few corners and the kids area got a little messy later in the day. That might just be because it was busy, but it stood out to me. Still, I had a good time and would definitely go back.

I tried using the site on my phone and it was confusing. Pages felt slow to load too, so I got frustrated quick.

I checked San Diego Natural History Museum before heading over, and the parking info definitely helped. I’ve been to Balboa Park with my family before and remembered parking being a bit of a headache, so I was pleasantly surprised this time. We found a spot without too much trouble, though I can see it getting busier later in the day. It wasn’t perfect, but it was much easier than I expected

Had a smooth visit. Easy to find my way around. No fuss, no confusion. Just simple and accessible, which I appreciated.

I’m not sure, maybe we just caught it on an off day, but it felt cramped and my kids got bored quickly. It didn’t really feel all that welcoming for families, at least from our experience.

The bones were cool to see, but I was expecting a lot more dinosaurs. A few of the displays felt kind of limited, and I wasn’t totally sure the overall quality matched the hype

I spent about two hours here and overall the exhibits were nice, but a few areas were really crowded and it made it hard to enjoy everything properly. For the price, I expected a smoother experience, so I’d appreciate some kind of discount or compensation for the parts we couldn’t really enjoy.

I went on a weekend expecting a chill, easy visit because that’s kind of how it was advertised, but the reality was different. It was packed, and I had to wait just to read some of the displays. There were kids running around everywhere too, so it didn’t feel very calm or enjoyable. The place itself is still cool and worth seeing, but the whole “relaxing experience” promise didn’t really match what I got. I’d probably only go back on a weekday.

We went to one of their night events and had such a good time. The staff was really friendly, the exhibits were still fun to walk through, and my kids stayed entertained the whole time, which is always a win. It was also super easy to check the details online before we went.

I visited the San Diego Natural History Museum and had a good time overall. The fossils and local nature exhibits were the highlights for me, and there was plenty to look at without it feeling overly crowded when I went.
A few of the displays did feel a little dated, and I found myself wishing there were more interactive parts to keep things fresh. I’d still give it 4 stars and recommend it for a relaxed couple of hours, but if they don’t update some of the older sections eventually, I could see myself choosing another museum next time.
